This weeks welcome Post is Euro Chimaera.

Euro-Chimaera will be the premier European server for all the needs of a serious SWG emulator project. Not only can we offer unparalleled server specifications and bandwidth via privileged access to a prominent UK data centre but its dedicated community will be second to none as enthusiasm and eagerness runs through the heart of our being. We can guarantee round-the-clock professional maintenance all year around and, naturally, we extend our welcome to players from all over the galaxy.
Upon delivery of the server software the server will remain ‘vanilla’ and untouched until any changes can be deliberated upon following serious consideration and public debate. Veterans all remember how it was back at around publish 14 and providing that feeling again is our top priority. At the same time we recognise that were some flaws in this system and we will strive our hardest to eliminate them, carefully, while keeping as much originality untouched.

We will be innovative when it comes to server wide events. Story arcs will be implemented as well as the opportunity to interact with other servers. We already have close ties with other servers and we are always looking to extend the olive branch to any that wish to take it and although it is early days, we envision meticulously organised multi-server events such as PvP ‘invasions’ where the hardened fighters from both servers meet to fight it out for the spoils of war.

Subjects such as Jedi and ADKs are very touchy amongst the community and there can be great division as to what is the right thing to do. At Chimaera we understand that Jedi are an important part of the canon of Star Wars but we understand also the great effect it can have on the harmony of the server. Chimaera WILL have Jedi on their server but we have been developing a secret Jedi system that will keep them a rare and dangerous profession, which not only respects the needs of Jedi but also that of the community as a whole. We encourage all members to fully explore their professions and to try new ones and to put the thought of ‘grinding to Jedi’ at the back of their minds.

It is hard to anticipate the affect that other servers will have on Chimaera. However, what you need to know is that Chimaera will be strong and resilient. We don’t think any other server will be able to provide a stable, low-ping, lag-free gaming environment AND a wide and varied game base. Don’t get sucked in to the promises of other servers, we are the only ones who can truly provide the service and the community to make it happen.
