SWGEmu-Craft.com:
The SWGEmu-Craft.com project was born of a love of the SWG crafting system and the need for a working, up-to-date site for the crafting communities of the various pre-cu emulators. The website is not officially partnered with the SWGEmu Project, but has a very close working relationship with the development team.
Aesa and Reap, the developers of the new site, are Day 1 veterans of the original Star Wars Galaxies game. They decided to design the site functionality based on the inner workings of the now defunct SWGCraft.com. There have been several additions made to the overall content and much of the redundancy has been removed, producing a streamlined and efficient online resource.
At the present time, the official SWGEmu test server, Core3, is the only supported server but Aesa and Reap assure me that they are willing to host for any server, including the ANH emulators. All the that is needed to have a server added to the database is a request from the server owner.
The site contains a wealth of information related to the crafting professions. The developers spent 1000s of hours locating accurate schematic information and screenshots. As of this writing, only about 200 of the 1200+ schematics do not have complete information and that will be resolved once the crafting system goes live on the SWGEmu test center. The site also hosts a number of calculators and tools to help the crafter make informed decisions about the products he/she will manufacture.
Aesa and Reap have assured this reporter that the site will be maintained on a daily basis as long as there are people playing the game.
About the Devs:
Aesa is not, by his own admission, a spring chicken. He is on the high side of 50 yrs old but is still “19 at heart”. His background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (attained in the late 1970s). He is also a master carpenter, an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, holds Black belts in Tae Kwan Do and Aikido and was once a nationally ranked amateur.
Aesa, and his partner Reap, own a web development company specializing in on-line commerce websites.
Reap is a self-proclaimed geek, but without the geeky or nerdy tendencies. At 38, Reap has been playing with computers and all things related since he was 13. He is an avid fan of Star Wars, most science fiction and gaming of all sorts, but prefers online gaming, specifically MMORPGs.
Reap also works as a technical trainer for a large communications company, which means he teaches technical staff everything from how to put connectors on a wire or cable to the design and operation of digital headends.
